Our button boxes are styled and named after a similar box found in a Shaker Community with the inscription "sisters collars buttons." It is the only box with "fingers" going in the opposite direction. Dating from around 1798, these boxes were produced by the Shakers for over 150 years. Made the same today as then, with copper tacks and tiny dowels, these boxes are prized for the patience and skill required to make them.
